ORLANDO POINTS GUIDE
How many Virgin Points do you need for Orlando?
Starting prices, maximum Saver levels, return totals, family examples and companion vouchers, all explained without hiding the cash charges or live-pricing risk.
Search live Orlando reward seatsVirgin’s advertised Orlando Saver examples currently start from 7,500 points in Economy, 13,500 in Premium and 29,000 in Upper Class, one way per person. A real return can cost more because each flight is priced separately, Saver is limited and the final booking also includes money for taxes, fees and charges.
The quick answer
One person, if both flights match the 7,500 starting example.
One person, if both flights match the 13,500 starting example.
One person, if both flights match the 29,000 starting example.
Payable for every traveller and confirmed during booking.
These return totals are calculated from Virgin’s advertised one-way starting examples. They are not fixed fares, guaranteed availability or a quotation. Live prices vary by date, demand, cabin and the number of seats required.
Understand the three different points figures
Most confusion comes from treating three different figures as though they mean the same thing.
- Advertised starting example
- The lowest example Virgin currently promotes
- Maximum Saver price
- The top of Virgin’s Saver range for that season
- Live dynamic price
- The actual price shown for your flight and party
A flight can be Saver at a price above the advertised starting example. If Saver is not offered, an available seat may still be booked for more points at the live dynamic price.

The table below doubles Virgin’s current one-way starting examples to create a return, then multiplies that return by the number of travellers. It assumes the same starting price is available in both directions for everyone.
- 1 traveller
- 15,000 Economy · 27,000 Premium · 58,000 Upper
- 2 travellers
- 30,000 Economy · 54,000 Premium · 116,000 Upper
- 4 travellers
- 60,000 Economy · 108,000 Premium · 232,000 Upper
- 6 travellers
- 90,000 Economy · 162,000 Premium · 348,000 Upper
A one-person price does not prove that two, four or six seats remain at that level. Search using the real number of people who need seats.
Maximum Saver return totals for Orlando
Virgin currently places Orlando in its “East Coast and Orlando” band. Its published one-way maximum Saver prices are 12,500 Economy, 22,500 Premium and 47,500 Upper Class during standard season. During peak season they rise to 22,500, 32,500 and 57,500.
- 1 traveller
- 25,000 Economy · 45,000 Premium · 95,000 Upper
- 2 travellers
- 50,000 Economy · 90,000 Premium · 190,000 Upper
- 4 travellers
- 100,000 Economy · 180,000 Premium · 380,000 Upper
- 1 traveller
- 45,000 Economy · 65,000 Premium · 115,000 Upper
- 2 travellers
- 90,000 Economy · 130,000 Premium · 230,000 Upper
- 4 travellers
- 180,000 Economy · 260,000 Premium · 460,000 Upper
These are calculated maximum Saver totals, not minimums and not live quotes. A Saver trip can cost less. A non-Saver trip can cost more.
How many points should a couple or family plan for?
Use the starting examples as an optimistic benchmark and the maximum Saver figures as a broader Saver planning range. Then search the real party size and let the live result decide.
- Economy
- 15,000 start · up to 25,000 standard Saver · up to 45,000 peak Saver
- Premium
- 27,000 start · up to 45,000 standard Saver · up to 65,000 peak Saver
- Upper Class
- 58,000 start · up to 95,000 standard Saver · up to 115,000 peak Saver
For a family of four, multiply the per-person points by four unless companion vouchers apply. Do not multiply a one-seat live result after the search, because enough seats may not remain for the whole family at that price.
Children use the adult points rate
Virgin’s current Flying Club terms state that children and young adults with their own seats are charged the full adult reward-seat points price. Passenger taxes also apply.
An infant under two travelling on an adult’s lap currently requires a fixed one-way amount:
- Economy
- 1,000 Virgin Points
- Premium
- 2,500 Virgin Points
- Upper Class
- 5,000 Virgin Points
A lap infant travelling return would therefore require 2,000, 5,000 or 10,000 points if both sectors remain in the same cabin, plus applicable passenger taxes. Confirm infant arrangements directly with Virgin before booking.
Companion-voucher examples for couples and families
A Flying Club reward voucher can be used for a companion seat. The voucher is currently worth up to 75,000 points for a Red member or up to 150,000 points for a Silver or Gold member, based on status when redeemed.
- Starting example return
- 15,000 Economy · 27,000 Premium · 58,000 Upper
- Standard maximum Saver
- 25,000 Economy · 45,000 Premium · 115,000 Upper Red · 95,000 Upper Silver/Gold
- Peak maximum Saver
- 45,000 Economy · 65,000 Premium · 155,000 Upper Red · 115,000 Upper Silver/Gold
- Starting example return
- 30,000 Economy · 54,000 Premium · 116,000 Upper
- Standard maximum Saver
- 50,000 Economy · 90,000 Premium · 230,000 Upper Red · 190,000 Upper Silver/Gold
- Peak maximum Saver
- 90,000 Economy · 130,000 Premium · 310,000 Upper Red · 230,000 Upper Silver/Gold
The Economy and Premium examples fit within either current voucher cap. For Upper Class, the companion’s return may exceed the 75,000-point Red cap, so the excess is added to the primary traveller’s points. Silver and Gold have a larger cap.
These examples assume the same cabin in both directions and each voucher is paired with a points-paid primary booking. Virgin applies the final calculation. Voucher use is single-use, unused value is not retained, and every passenger still pays taxes, fees and charges.

A reward seat is paid with Virgin Points plus money for taxes, fees, charges and carrier imposed surcharges. These amounts vary, can differ by direction and cabin, and remain payable for companion seats and children.
- Compare points and money together.
- Check every traveller’s final total.
- Review outbound and return cash amounts.
- Do not treat Scout’s cash floor as a cabin-specific quotation.
- Confirm the final amount on Virgin’s booking screen.
Reward Seat Scout ranks the reward-calendar information available to it. Virgin Atlantic remains the final source for the exact cash payment.
Manchester, Heathrow and other Florida options
Virgin’s current Orlando information lists direct flights from Manchester, London Heathrow and Edinburgh, with frequency varying by date and season. The same Orlando Saver price framework applies, but live availability and prices can differ between flights.
- Manchester (MAN)
- Direct Virgin route
- London Heathrow (LHR)
- Direct Virgin route
- Edinburgh (EDI)
- Direct on selected dates
Heathrow to Tampa can also be worth comparing when the additional drive suits your plans. Include trains, hotels, parking, car hire, driving time and the airport you return to before deciding that a lower points result is better.

Compare Manchester and Heathrow properlySearch dates and the complete return together
Orlando points can change from one day to the next. A cheap outbound is not useful if the return is unavailable, in the wrong cabin or priced far higher.
- Use the widest departure window you would genuinely book.
- Set the shortest and longest holiday you can accept.
- Search the full party size.
- Compare Saver status on both directions.
- Keep more than one cabin open only when you would book a mixed trip.
- Check Manchester and Heathrow together when either airport works.
School holidays and the main summer period fall within Virgin’s peak pricing periods for Orlando. Saver can still appear, but its published maximum is higher during peak travel.

Common Orlando points questions
How many Virgin Points do you need for a return flight to Orlando?
Virgin’s advertised one-way Saver examples start from 7,500 points in Economy, 13,500 in Premium and 29,000 in Upper Class. If both directions were available at those starting examples, a return would start from 15,000, 27,000 or 58,000 points per person. These are planning examples, not guaranteed live prices, and money is also payable for taxes, fees and charges.
How many Virgin Points would a family of four need for Orlando?
At Virgin’s advertised starting Saver examples in both directions, four seats would total 60,000 points in Economy, 108,000 in Premium or 232,000 in Upper Class. Finding four seats at the same lowest price may be difficult, and children with their own seats use the adult points rate.
What is the maximum Saver price for Orlando?
Virgin’s current East Coast and Orlando table shows one-way maximum Saver prices of 12,500 Economy, 22,500 Premium and 47,500 Upper Class in standard season, rising to 22,500, 32,500 and 57,500 respectively in peak season. A Saver price can be lower than these maximums.
Do children need fewer Virgin Points for Orlando?
No. Virgin’s Flying Club terms state that children and young adults with their own seats use the full adult reward-seat points rate. Passenger taxes also apply.
How many points does a lap infant need?
Virgin currently charges 1,000 points one way in Economy, 2,500 in Premium and 5,000 in Upper Class for an infant under two travelling on an adult’s lap, plus applicable passenger taxes.
Can a companion voucher reduce the points needed for Orlando?
Yes. A current Flying Club reward voucher can cover up to 75,000 points for a Red member or 150,000 points for a Silver or Gold member, based on status at redemption. Any points above the voucher value must be paid, and taxes, fees and charges remain payable for every passenger.
Is Manchester or Heathrow cheaper for Orlando reward seats?
Neither airport is permanently cheaper. The same starting and maximum Saver framework applies to Orlando, but live prices and seat counts can differ by flight, cabin and date. Compare both airports when either journey is practical.
Can Reward Seat Scout alert me when Orlando points fall?
Yes. Scout can check your selected airports, dates, trip length, cabins, travellers and vouchers every hour. You can request Saver availability, a complete trip within your points budget or a meaningful improvement from an earlier result.
